GBRAR has been notified of a Land Sale Scam in Livingston Parish. An individual who is not the property owner is contacting agents to make a sell as quickly as possible. This is a scam. Please do your due diligence when accepting calls for vacant land property listings.

Members who are suspicious about such inquiries may wish to file a complaint with their local police department.

Considering the potential financial and reputational risks associated with falling victim to such scams, we strongly urge each and every one of you to exercise the utmost caution and carry out thorough due diligence when dealing with sellers offering vacant lots. It is vital that everyone remains vigilant and protects themselves, their clients, and our profession from fraudulent activities.

  • Scrutinize Communication Channels
  • Insist on In-Person Interactions
